Terms of Service

1. The Service

School Konnect provides a cloud-based school management platform that enables schools to manage student records, attendance, assessments, report cards, staff accounts, parent communication, and notices. The platform is accessible via web browser and desktop application.

2. Account Registration

• The school administrator is responsible for creating and managing all user accounts on the platform.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering the school.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all admin credentials.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Each school is issued one admin account. Additional admin accounts may be created by the school administrator.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will:

• Use the platform only for lawful school management purposes.
• Ensure all users (staff, parents, students) are informed that their data will be processed on the platform.
• Obtain appropriate consent from parents before enrolling students.
• Not attempt to access another school's data.
• Not upload malicious files, scripts, or content designed to disrupt the service.
• Not use the messaging feature to send spam, harassing, or illegal content.
• Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.

4. Data Ownership

The school retains ownership of all data entered into the platform (student records, attendance, scores, etc.). School Konnect acts as a data processor on your behalf. We do not claim any ownership over your school's data. You may export your data at any time using the CSV export features in the platform.

5. Data Protection

Both parties agree to comply with the Ghana Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843). The school, as data controller, is responsible for ensuring it has a lawful basis to process the personal data of its staff, students, and parents. School Konnect, as data processor, will process data only on the school's instructions and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for losses arising from planned or unplanned service interruptions.

7. Fees and Payment

Subscription fees, payment terms, and renewal conditions are set out in the platform's subscription plans and processed via Paystack. Failure to pay may result in suspension of access. We will provide at least 14 days' notice before suspending an account for non-payment.

8. Termination

• Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days' written notice.
• We may suspend or terminate access immediately if the school breaches these Terms.
• Upon termination, the school has 90 days to export its data before it is permanently deleted.
• Sections 4 (Data Ownership), 5 (Data Protection), 9 (Limitation of Liability), and 10 (Governing Law) survive termination.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law, School Konnect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by the school in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes shall be resolved by negotiation in good faith. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be referred to the courts of Ghana.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Schools will be notified by email at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
